Places To Go, And People To See

I can hardly believe that Jeremy and I have been living in Louisiana for 6 months already. Without a doubt it has been a pretty wild ride. I'm a little bit bummed to say though that their are a few things that I've wanted to do since we've lived here but haven't quite gotten around to yet. Here are a few of the things that are on my must do while in Louisiana list:

1) There is a little store here called Dis-N-Dat. Jeremy and I pass by all the time, we just haven't taken the opportunity to stop in. I'm not really sure, but I imagine they have a little of Dis, and a little of Dat.

2) I definitely need to make a trip to Baton Rouge. Not only is it the state capital, but it is also home to the famous LSU national championship winning tigers. Maybe I'll dress in purple and yellow and go rally at a game. Geaux Tigers!! Translation...Go Tigers. I'd say my junior high French class really paid off, wouldn't you?? Deep down I think I secretly knew that my French lessons would come in handy some day, and as you can see they have!

3) What would Louisiana be without "The Big Easy" (a.k.a. New Orleans)? Answer...not much. If I'm being honest the possibilities are pretty much endless as far as entertainment goes, however, my main desire would be centered around a little temptation that the French like to call Beignets. These special treats are basically a square of fried dough covered in powered sugar...Yum!!! I'm told that the locals like to get a little crazy by having powered sugar fights. The trick is to blow as much powered sugar from your beignet on to your neighbor. Sounds like a hoot to me. The hot spot to indulge in these high calorie delights is Café du Monde.

4) Kentwood, Louisiana as we all know is the home town of B Spears. You can make fun all you want, but you better believe that I am going to make a trip to see Serenity while we are living here. Serenity, for those of you who don't know, is Britney's 3 million dollar mansion. Don't be jealous though...I promise to take my camera and post about my adventure when the journey happens. I can't promise anything amazing picture wise, because knowing B, I'm sure she has top notch security and a lot of trees surrounding the property. You can click here to check out some pictures.

Keep in mind that this is just a sliver of fun to be had by the Hansen's while we live here. I know that there are several other things that we want to see and do, but obviously I can't list them all. If anyone has ever been to this part of the country suggestions are always welcome.
