Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write 25 random things, facts, habits or goals about you.
1. I knew I wanted to marry Jeremy very quickly after we met. We were engaged three months after we'd started dating, and it felt like he'd never ask!!
2. One of my worst fears is giving talks or speaking in public. I am painfully shy around people I've just met and it takes me a very long time to be myself. I still get shy around Jeremy's family (I think it's because we don't get to see them very often) and we've been married almost four years.
3. I will not under any circumstances put syrup on my pancakes. The only way I can eat them is with jelly or peanut butter. However, I love syrup on waffles and french toast...it's a mystery!
4. Moving to Louisiana has been one of the hardest things I've ever had to adjust to. I am very close with my family, and it's been extremely hard to be so far away from them. Although I don't see myself ever really loving it here, I'm finally starting to realize that I need to embrace the differences here and try however I can to make it a positive experience. I'm also realizing that maybe moving here has been a blessing in disguise. Being able to see Jeremy every night is a blessing in and of itself, and it has brought us closer together (in my opinion anyway), plus I don't think I ever would have had the opportunity to go back to school for a nursing degree if we were still living in Utah. For those reasons I am so grateful that we are here.
5. I am a complete girly girl, and I spend way to much time getting ready and being concerned with how I look...I'm sure Jeremy would agree!
6. I shed like a dog! Seriously, my hair falls out in big clumps on a daily basis. It's actually pretty amazing that I even have any hair left.
7. I had a pet turtle growing up named Gavin Skeet that I got while on a vacation in California. He was so little and cute that I just had to have him! When we went to the airport to fly home security told me that I couldn't take him on the plane, but I decided to sneak him on anyway...that's when I knew I was a true rebel! When I started dating Jeremy and found out that he had a turtle I knew right then and there that we were M.F.E.O.
8. I prefer cold weather any day over heat. I think this is because I have an albino like skin tone that causes me to burn even when I stand too close to the oven.
9. Becoming a mother is my number one dream and goal. In fact, I secretly hope and pray that Jeremy and I will someday have twins...one boy and one girl, just like Brad and Angie.
10. I am a very emotional and sensitive person, and although I hate to admit it, I often cry while watching reality T.V. The fact, and the painful truth is that I watch way to much reality T.V., but back to being emotional and sensitive, for whatever reason I just have a lot of emotions that run pretty deep.
11. If I could drink diet pepsi and diet pepsi twist (whatever happened to that by-the-way??) day and night and night and day I would, but the truth is I'm off soda, so I guess that's not going to happen.
12. Carbs in many forms are my one true love (J/K it's you Jer), and even though I love me some meat (especially a good steak), I could not ever give up the sugars. Guess Atkins is out of the question for me.
13. Along those same lines, growing up I hated eating any type of red meat, but now that I'm older I love it...in moderation of course.
14. All this talk about food makes me remember how I was overweight all through my late childhood and adolescent years. I didn't start to thin out until after I graduated high school.
15. I get embarrassed very easily...I'm sure my dad could share a few stories.
16. I'm not very domestic. I don't cook as much as a wife should, I hate doing dishes (refer to Jeremy's blog with the dishes calendar), I don't sew (but I do want to learn this trait someday), and Jeremy does his own laundry...I'm a keeper!!
17. If I could go anywhere in the world it would be Ireland...Far and Away my friends, rent it!! Second choice would be Australia so that I could visit Bindi Irwin (the late crocodile hunter's daughter) at the Australian Zoo.
18. I don't particularly enjoy animals (minus Homer of course), but my dream is to someday swim with dolphins and have them push me through water with their nose.
19. Listening to Jeremy laugh when he thinks something is really funny always puts a smile on my face...even if what he's laughing at really isn't that funny.
20. Growing up I always wanted to be a news anchor woman...not sure this would have worked out too well since I have a phobia of public speaking.
21. One of my greatest fears is losing Jeremy. Everyday that he goes to work I worry of the possibility that something could happen and he may not come back. Morbid I know, but I'm sharing my thoughts here people!
22. I have a very hard time remembering names, but for some reason I can always remember people's birthdays...unexplainable really. Oh, and this might be two-in-one, but I think I have a slight case of adult ADD. I can tune people out in a matter of seconds and they don't even know it...it blows when I get caught though.
23. I love shoes, and the fact of the matter is that I own way to many!!
24. I have a mild case of insomnia. Not sure when exactly this started, but I have big problems sleeping at night! I usually stay up really late to tire myself out, but even then I almost always lay in bed for at least an hour (on a good night) before falling asleep.
25. I think that my mom is the greatest example of a wife and mother, and although I am not even close to being as amazing as she is, I hope that one day I can be the kind of mother and wife to my children and husband that she has been to our family.
I know it's a stretch, but I tag Jeremy (please please), Corey, Allie, B & E (another stretch), and anyone else who wants to give this a shot...it's fun, I promise!!

Christmas 2008
After reviewing my pictures from our holiday trip to Utah I noticed two major problems:
1) I haven't cleaned the lens on my camera in about three years, so several of the pictures I took have big spots on them.
2) I just wasn't in paparazzi mode like I usually am. This is mostly because the life of my camera battery is about 5 minutes fully charged.
The point is, and I'm sad to say, that I didn't get very many good pictures during our visit. Even so, here are a few of my favorites that turned out half way decent. Sorry about the red eye...another flaw I haven't been able to fix.
Me and Peep
Beckett the red-nosed reindeer
Little Isaac...don't mess with him, he growls
Me and Jer
Livy, Maggie and Maddie
Jer and Maddie. He fell pretty hard for this little girl...he absolutely LOVED her!
Jeremy, Dad and Brian
Me and Isaac
Sara and her little "mini-me"
Mom, Corey and Jeremy
Fischer, Allie, Erinne and Corey
Foo-Fi
Beckett, Ian, Olivia, Maggie and Jakob
OK, that was a butt-load of pictures, but still, I wish I would have taken many many more! Oh, and like a super dork I forgot my camera when we went to visit Jeremy's family, so sadly those are memories left uncaptured. Until next time I guess.

Story Time!!
Well, I've only been back in Louisiana for six days (after a perfect holiday vacation to Utah) but already the craziness continues here on the bayou. Just as a quick side note, I want to start by saying that I hope my posts about life here aren't offensive to anyone. My purpose is mostly just to write all of the crazy things that happen here down so that Jeremy and I have memories to look back on once we move. If I offend anyone it's not intentional, these posts are purely for kicks and giggles.
Story number one begins with a man who is celebrating his birthday, and just living it up basically. His night begins with a giant gold chain that he decides to wear around his neck (everyone needs a little bling right), but his family and friends decided that this gold chain needs a little spice, a little something extra, so they go about pinning several hundred dollar bills all around it. Well now it's time to hit the town, but first this dude decided he needed go to a local gas station, pick up a snack, and gas up the car...all while still sporting his chain. This is where the problems begin. He rolls into the "hood" of all gas stations in Thibodaux with the bills in plain sight. Well, he's gasing up his ride when two thugs roll up packing heat. They immediately demand that he hand over the bills...he can keep the gold chain though. So after being robbed at gun point the birthday boy pulls out his own pistol and shoots one of the robbers in the leg. What the...I guess along with the bling he's also packing heat. I just have one question though...in less your name is Flavor Flav, what kind of jack a** goes around wearing a giant gold chain pinned with hundred dollar bills?? The moral of this story, leave the birthday bling at home next time.
Story number two takes place at the very hospital where I work. It's evaluation time right now, and one of the girls I work with is put in the hot seat. She's had several complaints that she is rude, doesn't do her work and mouths off to the nurses...SHOCKER!! So anyway, she's having her eval and these issues are brought to her attention. She is told that she is now on probation, and that she has 30 days to shape up or she will be shipped out. Her response..."I'm straight hood, you can't expect me to change who I am or to become something that I'm not"...in other words, it's unrealistic to expect her to be pleasant to work with and to have a stronger work ethic. What happens from here??? Well she's still working with us, so we'll see if she can improve her hood-like attitude. The moral of this story, don't ever tell your boss that you are "straight hood" during your evaluation.
Once again...welcome to Louisiana!!

Happy Holidays
Here's a sneak peak of the mullet for those of you requesting pictures. I'm learning how to tame it, and it's looking a little better then it did in the beginning. Anyway, hope you enjoy the picture, and we hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

Not a fan of the layers
Yesterday I swallowed my pride, and for the first time since moving to Louisiana I decided to get my hair done out here. It's always risky for a girl to try a new stylist and this time was no exception. I made my appointment and when I arrived, the first sign of danger was that girl doing my hair had to take 5 for a smoke...ewww!! Anyway, I told her that I'd like a dark chocolate brown color for the, and that I wanted to keep the length and add a few bangs...pretty simple right? Well the color turned out really cute, but somewhere along the line the stylist suggested adding a few long layers to my cut. It sounded harmless so I agreed, but those long layers turned out to be code for really short mullet-like accents around the face. I tried to hold back the tears in the salon but they just came out flowing. When she asked me if I was ok I told her "oh yes, I'm just crying because I haven't seen anyone work the scissors like that in a long time...impressive". Alright, to be honest I didn't really cry, but that's only because I didn't get to make a good enough assessment of the cut until I got home. On a positive note, I suppose my new look is better then the mop I was sporting before. I doubt even a rabid squirrel on the loose up there could have made it look worse then it was. I sure hope these layers grow out fast because I'm not sure how long I can handle this business up front, party in the back look. Yikes!! I'll post pictures soon so you can all laugh at me.

Snow on the Bayou!!!
If you thought the world was rocked during the anthrax scare in 2001 check this out....I wake up this morning and it's SNOWING outside...WTH!! This just doesn't happen in Louisiana. The funniest part about it is that several of the local schools are closed today due to the weather. I think these cats need to come to Utah if they think this is bad. I must say though that this is a bit of a Christmas miracle for me, because I've been wishing and hoping for snow, the only thing is I was wishing and hoping for it when we got to Utah. In my wildest dreams I never imagined it would happen here. Poor Jer bear has to work in this nonsense, and it's his birthday too...sorry sugar! Next time I'll be careful what I wish for.
