Move Over Cinnabon...
Today it was revealed to me what a great cook my cute husband Jeremy is. He has baked and cooked things before, but I must say that these whole wheat cinnamon rolls top the charts! Don't they look amazing? Yes, they do...and they tasted even better! I think that cooking must be a hidden talent of Jeremy's that is slowly surfacing. Needless to say, I like it! All I have to say now is move over Cinnabon, because here comes "The Big Jerm", apron and all!

Whole Wheat Cinnamon Rolls
Ingredients:
1 package active dry yeast or quick-rise yeast
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/8 cup warm water (105° to 115°F)
1 cup fat-free milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons shortening
1 large egg
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups bread flour or all-purpose flour.
Cinnamon Smear:
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup margarine
1/4 cup flour or cake crumbs
1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons fat-free milk
2-3 teaspoons cinnamon or to taste
Frosting:
2 cups powdered sugar
1(8oz) pkg cream cheese (softened)
1 tablespoon butter (softened)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Happy Birthday Allie!

This birthday post is for my older sister Allie. Happy birthday girl! I just have to say that not only is she a great sister, but she is also an amazing mother too! I think that she is probably one of the most patient people I know. We hope you have a very happy birthday Allie. Love you!

A Day at the Bowling Ally
Our trip to Utah consisted of many different activities but this was probably one of my favorite. It's strange too because normally I hate bowling. I think I enjoyed this so much because I can't remember a time, other then here, when I ever went bowling with my whole family. So here are some pictures of our outing.
Brian looks intense, but I think this was a strike out!
Can anyone say gutterball???
Liv got into the game.
I'm pretty sure Maggie beat us all.
Beckett was a natural.

Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Today was a pretty exciting day of religion for Jeremy and I. We had Stake Conference today in New Orleans instead of meeting for our regular meetings. Now let's face the facts here. I am as guilty as anyone in sometimes thinking that Stake Conference is code for "free week". Well, not this time! We were very privileged today to have Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles as one of the speakers at our Conference session. This was particularly exciting for me because I've never actually been to a live session where any Apostle has spoken...believe that! I guess this is one of the perks to living outside of Utah. And, apparently Gladys Knight was one of the speakers at the previous Stake Conference here. Anyway, It was such a neat experience to have an Apostle of the Lord speaking right there in front of me. Elder Uchtdorf is an amazing speaker, and I doubt that I will soon forget this experience.

Happy New Year!
Yes, I know I am about 5 days late with this post, but better late then never right??? Just a quick recap on our Christmas...I was fortunate enough to be able to spend almost 3 weeks in Utah over the holidays. Jeremy came out for about 6 days, mostly because of work, but also because we weren't sure what to do with Homer. This Christmas was the first in 2 years that my whole family was all together. Last year Jeremy was in Louisiana working, and Corey was still in Arizona on her mission. The year before was Corey's first away from home on her mission. It was really neat to be able to have my whole family together. My only regret over the holidays (besides eating way too much) was that we weren't able to see all of Jeremy's family. I feel really bad about that. Next year we will definitely plan better so that we are able to spend time with everyone. Jeremy and I are really blessed to have such wonderful families, and I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for everything you do for us! Anyway, above are a few of the moments I captured on camera during our trip to Utah. I won't show all the pictures I took because that would take too long. My brother kept referring to me as the paparazzi because I had my camera at all times.
