Slickdeals + US Weekly = Booya!

Good news from the bayou people. Thanks to my eagle eye husband (and slickdeals) I have been receiving US Weekly, well, weekly. Jeremy found an add on slickdeals promoting a year long subscription for only $5. That's right...$5. That's like 52 issues of non-stop celeb gossip delivered right to my mail box. Hells Yeah!!! So far it's been like a great ride at a theme park...one that I never want to end. I get to find out the latest details about John and Jen, Reese and Jake, Miley and her photo shoot scandal, who's betraying who from the hills cast, and much much more. I thought about throwing out each issue after I read them, but I changed my mind thinking that in ten years or so what could be better then whipping out my July 2008 issue and re-living all of the details of the birth of Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline (Brad and Angie's twins). That day will be pretty great. So, the moral of this post...keep your eyes open for slickdeals such as this. You never know what can happen. Oh, and by-the-way, I'm looking forward to my next issue where I hope to have some clarity on this Christian Bale assault situation ....HELLO!

The Countdown Begins!

Tonight is the night. It's the moment we've all been waiting for! OK, maybe not all of us, but can you blame me for being excited when there is NOTHING on t.v. during the summer??? So two men remain, Jason and Jesse. Talk about polar opposites! I'm positive that tonight is sure to be the most intense rose ceremony ever!!! Let's take a look at our two remaining bachelors.

First we have Jason. He is my pick! I will be shocked and a bit emotional if he doesn't win Dee's heart tonight. What he has going for him: He is from Seattle, Washington (big bonus in my opinion), he maintains a steady career as an account executive, he is handsome and super sweet. Why DeAnna may not pick him: Despite his many good qualities, Dee can't ignore the fact that she would be jumping into an immediate family if she chooses Jason, since he already has a 3 year old son. I don't think this should be a deal breaker though, because she talks like she wants to start a family pretty quickly anyway. Jason, just do your thang tonight and you've got this in the bag!

The next bachelor we have fighting for DeAnna's heart is Jesse. Although I am cheering for Jason to steal the show tonight, I have to admit that I really like Jesse too. In the beginning I thought he was a super freak, but each episode he "continues to surprise me", as Dee would say. He's like a weed that keeps growing and growing on me. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that he would be entering into the final rose ceremony. Way-to-go Jesse! What he has going for him: He fun loving, adventurous, seems like someone DeAnna would never get bored with, and on the softer side, he treats her very well! Why he may not win Dee's heart: He is still pretty young, he doesn't really have an all together plan for the future...Pro-Snowboarding can only take you so far dude, and his lingo isn't quite as elegant as DeAnna's. Example: "I will be so siked if Dee picks me because I think we could have a blast together shredding it up in Breck. Dee is seriously tight, and smokin hot, and I am so stoked to have made it this far". OK, so maybe those weren't his exact words, but basically that's the way he talks. I'm not sure DeAnna is feeling that Urban dictionary.
So that is my analysis of the two bachelors. I can't wait to see who she chooses! Oh, and be sure to tune in after the final rose when DeAnna returns with the man she chose and the bachelor she sent home crying like a little girl. Good stuff!

Happy Anniversary!

It's been three blissful years since Jeremy and I were married in the Salt Lake City temple. I still remember that day like it was yesterday. Everything about June 29, 2005 was perfect. The best part is that we were able to be married on the same day, and in the same sealing room as my sister Sara and her husband Ryan. Thanks for the memories guys! Also, this is the first of our three anniversaries that Jeremy and I have been able to spend together. All-in-all I feel like a pretty lucky gal to have a guy like Jer. Thanks for being my best friend and a great husband. Here's to eternity!

Now Does Anyone Believe Me???

The year was 1999, the movie, The Sixth Sense..."I see dead people". I guess I should have expressed my prediction on this movie out loud, because no one seems to believe me that I figured out the ending before it was revealed. Did anyone else know that Bruce Willis was dead the whole time?? Well, this may come as a surprise to some of you, but I knew! Seriously!! I knew he was dead before the movie told us he was. I just put two and two together on a few clues and I figured it out. It was BEFORE this scene that I knew in my head that Dr. Malcolm Crowe was already dead. The problem with this is that I never told anyone until the movie was over...well, I didn't want to spoil the ending for everyone else. So, because of my silence I have been mocked and made fun of for years. So, let me now get to my point with this post. I feel that after last nights episode of The Bachelorette I can finally be taken seriously about my ability to predict certain outcomes. All of us who watched last night know that the lovable Graham was given the boot by DeAnna. Didn't I say that this would happen??? True, it was an easier puzzle to solve then the ending of The Sixth Sense, but the fact remains that I am capable of figuring these things out. I rest my case.

My Prediction

Who else thinks that Graham is getting the boot on next weeks episode of the Bachelorette? If you're afraid to come out of the closet and admit that you are a faithful Bachelorette junkie (like me), don't worry, I allow anonymous comments on my blog. I really like Graham, but it was pretty obvious to me after watching the preview for next week that he's the one to go, especially after DeAnna turned on the water works and admitted that she was "second guessing her decision". She is still venerable after what Brad did to her, and now I think she fears that Graham will do the same. So, as much as I hate to admit it, I think it's safe to say that like a fat kid in dodge ball....he's out! Does anyone disagree???

Memorial Day

This year for Memorial Day I was in Utah visiting my family. We had originally planned to ride the new Frontrunner train into Salt Lake in the morning, but because it was a holiday the the railway was not operating. At this point we really had to rack our brains for ideas since the weather outside was rainy and cold. We decided that we would head over to my brother's house for a jam session. What better way to kick off Memorial Day then busting out a little rock band.

Every year we go to the Kaysville cemetery to visit my grandma and grandpa Roundy's grave. This year grandpa Mike decided to give the kids some money to buy a soda out of the vending machine. Let's just say that 6 grandkids and one bottle of Mountain Dew don't really mix. It was a shark fest, and I'm pretty positive that if Fischer could walk he would have pummeled the other 5 kids and ran with the dew. Until then I guess he will just have to settle for grandma Maddie letting him chug half the bottle while Allie and Neil have their heads turned the other way. Gotta love it!

Luckily the weather cleared up and we were able to end the day off right with a family get together and a BBQ.

My Trip to Utah

I had the opportunity to go to Utah on May 19th for 10 days thanks to my parents who hooked me up with sky miles. I was so glad that my dad was able to swing me a direct flight on Skywest airlines. If it weren't for Skywest I would have been traveling all day instead of a short and sweet 3 hours and 15 minutes.I'd be happy to fly that friendly airline any day! So back to my vacation..it was awesome! I can't even tell you how nice it was to go back to Utah for a few days. It was so fun to see my parents beautifully remodeled home and to spend so much time with my family. I only wish that Jeremy could have been there with me, but unfortunately he had to work. Welcome to adult responsibilities I guess. Other then that, it was a perfect trip filled with the four F's...fun, family, friends, and food. Here are a few highlights.

Cookie Bake Off
One of my favorite nights during my visit to Utah was "cookie bake off" night. We divided into teams and we all made a different batch of cookies. Me and my dad were on a team, Mom and Beckett were on a team and Allie and Neil were on a team.

Me and dad made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with pecans.

Mom and Beckett made peanut butter blossoms.

Allie and Neil made chocolate waffle cookies.

Beckett was a natural in the kitchen, and he hardly licked his fingers at all.

As you can see, the oven wasn't the only thing that heated up.

A Trip To The Cheesecake Factory

We ate dinner one night at the Cheesecake Factory and these little diddy's topped it all off. The one on the left is Brownie Sundae Cheesecake (Brownie, Cheesecake, White Chocolate Mousse and Chocolate, Covered with Hot Fudge and Almonds), and the one on the right is Adam's Peanut Butter Cup Fudge Ripple (Creamy Cheesecake Swirled with Caramel, Peanut Butter, Butterfingers and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups). So Good!

Thanks again mom, dad, and family for making my trip to Utah so great. It was so fun to see you all and I can't wait to come again. Until then, it's back to life on the Bayou.
